Arduino - the documentary
An introduction to Arduino
Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software. It's intended for scientists, artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments. Arduino can sense the environment by receiving input from a variety of sensors and can affect its surroundings by controlling motors, pumps, lights and other actuators; it can transfer the input data directly to the computer or store it and send it over the internet or the cellular network.
The aim of this workshop is to introduce the Arduino family and its development environment to the students of Imperial College Design Collective. The two-days workshop will combine presentations and hands-on sessions that will help you to start building your Arduino projects.

This is an interactive workshop with lots of hands-on activity. No prior knowledge of electronics/programming is required. You don't need to bring your Arduinos or any other electronic components with you, but you do need to do bring a laptop with you and do the following before the Workshop:

In each hand-on session the participants will be divided into small groups of 2-3.
-
Please bring your laptops to the session (1 laptop for each group)
-
Download and install the Arduino IDE software before the session (link)
-
Go to https://create.arduino.cc/ and sign up for the Arduino WEB editor.
-
Download and install the Arduino plug-in from: https://create.arduino.cc/getting-started/plugin
